Welcome Trig Korbin Richards...

We had a baby boy named Trig Korbin Richards. He was born on Oct. 21st at 8:30 a.m. Not long after Trig was born he was diagnosed with Congenitial Heart Disease and was life flighted up to Primary Children's Hospital. Jamie stayed in Payson and Grandpa Sam and I went to S.L.C. to be with Trig. They have since diagnosed him with Transpostion of the Great Arteries. I have enclosed a diagram of the surgical procedure they will be doing the first of next week. It is open heart surgery where they will connect the arteries the right way. They also did a samll surgery yesterday in which he did well. I am, by the way filling in as the blogger temporarily until Jamie is released to come up here, where she will then take over. We appreciate all of the phone calls and the prayers on Trig's behalf. It is now that we realize what a great circle of family and friends that we have. We are planning on moving the family up here on the 23rd. where we will live for the next month or two or as long as we need to until we can take trig home. My bad, I could not figure out how to upload the image of trig's heart. But, you can google Transposition of Great Arteries if you are interested.

Mom said that they plan on doing the next surgery on Monday, do you know what time? I thought a family fast would be a good thing to do that day. We love and miss you guys.

  5. Keith, Jamie, and Family, Since I'm not sure that everyone checks the blogs, I took the liberty of posting info from your blog on the MyFamily.com website. I hope that is okay. I told everyone to click on the link to your blog for more information and lots of pictures. Please let me know if if is okay to post some pictures on that website as well because I think quite a few people check that site quite often.

Keith, Thanks for posting the info and pictures. We have all been worried about little Trig and anxious to hear more information, so keep us updated as you are able to.

We want Keith and Jamie and Sam and Joan and all their families to know that they and especially little Trig are in our thoughts and prayers. We know that the doctors at Primary Children's can perform miracles, so we pray for a successful surgery and a complete healing for Trig. He is a beautiful, "chubby" baby, who I think looks a whole lot like his big brother Sam. He looks like he has a strong, healthy body, (except for his heart arteries,) and I assume that will be a great benefit as he goes through the upcoming procedures. Know that we love you all, and we wish you peace, comfort, strength, understanding, and anything else you are in need of at this time.

  6. Thanks for giving me this site so I can look at the pictures of your adorable sweet baby. I'm sorry you guys have to go through this trial. Just remember that little Trig and your family have lots of prayers on your behalf, and through prayer everything is possible. We will miss you while you are gone,I guess I will have to borrow eggs from someone else:). I cant wait to come see him when he gets home.
    Love the Mikesell family

  7. Jamie, Keith, Sam, Joan, and families. I just want you to know that if anyone knows a month in the hospital, I do...........and you will survive and be so glad to get the little Trigmeister home. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we know that miracles do happen. I'm alive today because of a miracle. There are only just a few things in this life that really matter and the rest is just "fluff" All we really need is our health, our families, and the gospel,....... everything else does not matter. You will look back on this experience and be so much stronger and have more faith that our Heavenly Father answers prayers and knows what is best. We love you and pray that Trig will be home soon! Ryan, Amy, Abbie, Josh, & Gracie

  8. Jamie!
I am so sorry about little Trig. (love the name by the way) Those pictures bring back memories of Brock! I know how hard it is to see your little baby like that! But Hevenly Father is there with him, keeping him safe and comfortable. It's crazy how life can throw such a curve ball! I know that Trig is going to be fine! My prayers are with you! If there is anything at all I can do for you or your family please let me know!
