Toads, teepees and parades!

I haven't been the greatest at keeping up on my blog lately. Here are lots of random pictures from the past month.

We love going to the Labor Day parade. It is always cool and we have a perfect place to sit. Keith's sister lives right on the parade route so we can leave our house right before the parade starts and still have great seats! The kids love hanging out with their cousins and they always get way too much candy...which they love!

Every year after the parade we go down to the park and the kids get their faces painted. For some reason it is the highlight of Labor Day!

When Keith was young his Mom made a teepee for him. It is so cute, his Mom is definitely much more talented than I am. Keith decided to bring it home for the kids to play in and they have loved it. They even decided to sleep in it one night.

This is Sam's science experiment that he did with Keith. They found 6 dirty pennies and put them each into a muffin tin and covered them with ranch, syrup, sprite, soap and water, vinegar and baking soda and salt water. Which item do you think cleaned the pennies the best....we were surprised!

We went to Cabelas last Saturday. The kids had fun looking at all the animals and feeding the fish.

Sam and Keith have been doing a lot of hunting together. Keith loves having a little hunting partner!

A few weeks ago Sam and his friends "saved" four toads that were in the gutter. Sam said that there was so much garbage in the gutter that they would die. We decided to keep them in our window well. I thought that they would be fun to watch and a pretty easy pet to have. After they had been there a few days Sam got down in the window well to check on them. He touched one and said that it was crispy....sad! We didn't realize that they needed to be in water so Keith made some little ponds for them. It has been fun watching them. We go to the pet store every week and buy crickets for them to eat.

Trig thinks he is so big!! I think that he will be walking soon.

Trig's favorite spot...he loves to watch the kids playing outside. He always screams and pounds on the window.

Trig's new favorite treat. I guess he takes after his brother. If you ask Sam what he wants for breaksfast, lunch or dinner the answer most likely will be watermelon.

  3. Did Keith tell them that we had toad in our window well. I think he should be walking soon. He is almost one about the time they walk right? Melynn walked at 8 1/2 to 9 months so I don't really know.

  4. They did not use salsa on one of them? I am going to go with the vinegar and baking soda or the sprite. Leaning more toward the Sprite.

I cannot believe Trig, he trips me out everytime I see pictures of him. Sophie looks like Jamie's side of the family and Sam definitely looks like Keith. Trig must just be a compilation of both of you. He looks like he is already walking in the one picture.

I can't wait to see them next month. I am excited!

  5. I guess I will call Jamie and have her post the answer. I am with the vinegar and soda too, but they were surprised so who knows. If you look real close they have the different pennies labeled, just can't read them.
