Christmas Traditions

Light Parade

Trig was ready to be done with shopping so Grandma Joan kept him entertained on the escalator.

I didn't get very many pictures, but every year my family goes up to SLC to stay over night. We wanted to go to Temple Square but it was just too cold! We had dinner at Applebees, shopped a little and then went back to the hotel to let the kids swim. The next day we went to Clark Planetarium and watched a Christmas movie. We had a fun time. Thanks Mom and Dad!!

Making gingerbread houses at Grandma and Grandpa Housers. Every year Keith's mom makes gingerbread houses for all the grandkids and then we all get together to decorate them. Sophie and Sam always look forward to decorating their Gingerbread house. It is one of their favorite things at Christmas time.

Festival of Trees. This is only the second year that we have been to the Festival of Trees. It was really neat seeing the trees and to hear some of the stories about who the trees were for, but I have to say it was CROWDED!! Which is good since all the money goes to Primary's but it was a little too crowded for me. We didn't stay all that long. We went through a few rows of trees and then looked at the gingerbread houses. I really could have spent hours there if it wasn't for pushing a stroller through the crowds. Next year we will have to figure out a new plan.

Every year the kdis love to make reindeer out of candy canes. I think this is actually a tradition Keith did when he was little. Keith and Sophie and Sam got pretty creative this year. They made elk, big horn sheep, antelope and even unicorns. I was the eyes and nose gluer (is gluer a word?).

Decorating the tree...once again not great pictures.

My mom has this quilt with pockets in it for everyday of the month. She fills the pockets with little surprises and goodies for Sophie, Sam, Trig and my brother Tagg. This is another one of my kids favorite things at Christmas Time.
