Baby Names

Ok, so most of you know that we are not finding out what we are having. Well, I am having a hard time with baby names. It is hard enough to pick one name that I like let alone have to come up with a name for each sex. If it was up to Keith we wouldn't think about it until we are in the hospital but I think that is putting it off a little too long. On the other hand I think about baby names from the minute I know I am pregnant. Wherever I am at theDr., any kind of lessons with kids, church...anywhere I listen for names that I like. The thing that i am wondering about is if I should stick with the "S" we have Sophie and Sam and I actually like a lot of "S" names but do you think it is a little much to have all the same letters. I already call Sam Sophie and Sophie Sam so I would probably just make it harder on myself. Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts...Share.

  1. Well my kids names aren't anything alike and I call Jacob-Ethan and Ethan-Devyn and Devyn-Jacob and I call them whatever but I have the hardest time calling them their names. So I don't think that have another 'S' name would necessarily make it harder. It's hard anyway! I would stick with the 'S' names, I think its cute!

  3. You know my opinion. Shattie just doesn't make it. (It is okay, if you don't use it, I think Wendi might)

  4. I think it would be better to stick with 'S' names since your other two kids have that. Unless you want your new kid to have random name from other kids. I think It would be cute to stick with S.

  5. Jamie- My mom did the "A" thing after she had me and ended up with Amy, Anika, Ashlen and Andrew Allred... not to be confused with their good friends the other Allred's (not related)... they have 7 kids named Andrea, Aaron, Austin, Amber, April, Adam and Ashley (and my aunt's kids are named Aaron, Anna, Alec and Adam- hehe)! Phew! I think the "S" thing is cute! I love the name Sara for a girl, and my friend just named her baby Saryn... ? I also have a friend that just named her baby boy Sawyer... it totally grew on me. Anyway... those are my suggestions. Sorry I don't have more!

  6. Jamie- This is Robbin, Jamie's sister. I hope you don't mind me commenting on your blog but I'm admit I'm a total blog-stalker. I'm not sure how I even found you. I love seeing your kids, they're adorable and I didn't know you were expecting! Congrats! If you don't mind I'll keep checking back. Feel free to visit mine and leave a comment. I've had a blog for a while and have been trying to get Jamie to do it. I even went as far as to start one up for her but she's just not that into it. Maybe you can talk her into it. It's a great way to stay in touch. Good luck with the baby names. I don't think it really matters either, mine usually get called their sisters first then their own. It's a good thing we don't have a dog because that would end up in there too.

  7. You have adorable kids. I haven't seen you guys since I think you were pregnant with Sophie. Your family looks great. When are you due with baby number 3. Oh this is Rita Hull as you may not know my married name. Sorry I have no suggestions as we are stumped on names for our baby #4. All the names we have some up with are not S names but there are lots of cute ones out there. Good luck

  8. I am always getting the names mixed up as well. Hunter Dylan and Dylan Hunter so some times I will just say #2 when I am trying to call Dylan. Aaron is not a fan of all the same letter but if you already have 2 S's I say go for a third. Aaron's sister is pregnant too and she and her husband each of a J so they are going with a third J as well. Why mess with a good thing. There is a lady in my ward who's name is Sara but she spells it Saira which is kinda cool. My Mom is crazy, what is this Shattie stuff? That is just too weird. Almost sounds like a swear word.

  9. I say do what you want to do. To be honest names are not my forte. We didn't know what the sex of the baby was so we came up with three of each. Once Emily was born though none of the girl names seemed to fit her. We had never even considered the name it just seemed to fit. So good luck! :) I'll be rooting for you. But from a teaching standpoint .... be careful with the spelling. You want people to be able to pronounce the name. :) Love ya! (PS You have such a cute family!)

  12. Jamie-
It has been a long time! I am happy to hear you are doing good, and your family is so cute. It is fun to catch up on so many people.
I am horrible with picking names. I always had a hard time finding one I liked- knowing once you choose it, it stuck. I like the "s" name idea. My kid's names are nothing alike, and i call out the wrong name all the time. Anyway, I'm sure your new one will be so cute it won't matter what name. Take care,

  13. I am sure Jamie understood the SHattie....I have been pushing the name Hattie. I just meant it did not sound good.....Hattie was much better!

  14. I think Jamie understood. I did not mean to name the baby Shattie. I am just pushing Hattie! So my vote is to mix the letters up.
