Sophie is our little entrepreneur. At the first of the summer, out of the blue she told me that she was having a yard sale. I was a bit hesitant since it was already Saturday morning and we hadn't planned anything. But then she told me "Mom, I am having a yard sale today no matter what" She wasn't being snotty about it, just matter of fact. So I told her to go ahead and do it. The next thing I know, her and Sam were in her room finding anything and everything that they could to sale. She had a marker and some paper and tape and was marking the prices on the things (or junk) that they wanted to sale. They took a blanket out on the grass and set everything out on it. So this is a picture of her and Sam out on our front lawn having a yard sale. Grandma Joan heard about it and buzzed right over. She bought a stuffed animal for $3 and a few of Sophies friends bought a few things so I thing she ended up making about five dollars. Pretty good for a 6 year old.

YOu are such a nice mom. Devyn has begged me to have her own little yard sale and I always tell her no, and that we will have a big one some day and we never do. I guess I should just let her do it.
ReplyDeleteThat is our little Sophie! I wish I had know about the yard sale...I love yard sales!
ReplyDeleteYou should keep that sign or at least it's good that you got a picture of it. I can't believe how grown up she has got. It blows my mind. It seems like just a few months ago when she was born.
